Easter at Arana Hills

Early reports indicate that Easter 2011 is delivering good business for newsXpress stores.  Gifts, cards and eggs are all selling well … based on feedback from newsXpress members.

Great displays are key to seasonal promotion success, displays like we can see at newsXpress Arana Hills which offer products across a range of product categories in a good location and which can be easily shopped.

Party Time at newsXpress Knox

p1.JPGThe new Party department at newsXpress Knox is delivering good sales.  Plenty is as a result of new traffic generated by the new department.

From helium filled balloons through to party supplies like plates and cups, the new party department brings a feeling of celebration to the shop.  The good range of products is generating excellent word of mouth and this is helping bring new traffic.

Planogrammed around a column and on a couple of stands, the party department at newsXpress Knox is situated close to a high traffic location in-store and as a result  drives good impulse purchases as well as destination purchases.

More and more newsXpress stores are rolling out party departments, enjoying good margin high customer impact business.

Business Development Team Meeting

We flew all of our Business Development Managers and several others from our team into Sydney yesterday for a review of current newsXpress projects, briefing on supplier offers and a discussions around innovation planned for the second quarter of 2011.

newsXpress has the largest team of Business Development Managers, delivering in-store support, assistance and guidance, out of all newsagency marketing groups.  The BDM team is a key reason for the above average performance we see in newsXpress businesses compared to other newsagencies.

Yesterday was well spent with clear and agreed focus for the three months ahead.

Berocca sales fire at Riverlink

The fridge (provided free by the supplier) is in an excellent location to drive impulse purchases … and to leverage the teerrific TV campaign currently playing promoting Berocca.

newsXpress got in early with the Berocca opportunity and delivered to members an innovative and commercially valuable impulse purchase opportunity outside the usual product range offered to newsagents.

This Berocca offer is another example of valuable newsXpress innovation in action … helping newsXpress members bank more dollars by embracing innovative opportunities.

Royal Wedding innovation at Redcliffe

This collateral for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, Diaries and Calendars provides newsXpress members with professional posters featuring newsXpress exclusive artwork with which to professional promote the season in-store.

The artwork for the collateral this year is presented in landscape mode, looking like it is on the back on an envelope.  This is a subtle yet effective connection of the season with card buying … something often overlooked in seasonal marketing in newsagencies.

In addition to the printed posters, newsXpress also provides soft copies on the member website – for local printing and inclusion in local documents.

A terrific impulse purchase by tradies picking up a newspaper and a welcome lift for weekend shoppers who may have had a rough night, the placement of the Berocca fridge at newsXpress Seymour is tactical … very smart.

The fridge was provided free as part of the offer negotiated by newsXpress for the introduction of the Berocca range through our stores.  This was in addition to bonus stock.  All in all a very lucrative deal for newsXpress members to get into an excellent impulse purchase products.

Magazine Display of the Week: Birthday Cake Cookbook in Beechworth

By giving over the whole window to a display for the book, the newsXpress Beechworth team was able to create a stunning and commercially valuable display, something which looked great on the main street of the town.

newsXpress has encouraged members to get behind this title.  The result has been excellent incremental business.  We identified the title as a valuable basket building opportunity as soon as we heard it was to be republished.  We were certain that the 25 year old title would tap into the strong interest in nostalgia..  We were right and many newsXpress members have been banking the results of our advice since.

This display at newsXpress Beechworth is our Magazine Display of the Week because it is bold, professional and appealing.

Gif range a hit at newsXpress Albany Forest
