Terrific Tinco range display at newsXpress East Maitland

newsXpress East Maitland has created a wonderful display of products from our friends at Tinco.  nice coming on as a newsXpress preferred supplier, Tinco has helped many newsXpress members grow sales in the gift / gift packaging area.  We are seeing the tins sold as items for personal use as well as for gifts.  We are also seeing them sold as packaging for other gifts.  They have so many uses, making the Tinco range a welcome addition to newsXpress stores.  Please click on the image to see a larger version of the photo.

newsXpress Emerald in Queensland has a terrific display promoting Halloween at the entrance to the newsagents.  This is an excellent embrace of the Halloween opportunity … not only showing off the season for their local success but also showing off their newsXpress connection and our national support for what is now a commercially valuable as well an tremendously fun season.

Knowing the team at Emerald they are set to have fun with Halloween as the big day gets closer.

The collateral created exclusively for newsXpess stores promoting the 2012 diary range is proving to be invaluable in signposting and promoting the diary range.

By hanging the double sided posters above the 2012 diary offer, our stores are making shopping easy for diary customers.  This placement is also turning browsers for other products into diary shoppers.  Diaries are the type of product people will purchase once reminded that they need to get in early to find what they want.

Smurf sales success at newsXpress Sorell in Tasmania

newsXpress Sorrell in Tasmania is another newsXpress location which made the most of the Smurf opportunity.

Thanks to excellent buying by our merchandise team, newsXpress members had access to Smurf products in advance of the release of the Smurf movie.  This helped drive traffic and build better shopping baskets.

Using Sesame Street products to attract shoppers

newsXpress Maryborough in Victoria has been promoting Optus handsets and Optus SIM packs with this placement of the Optus dump bin on the newsagency shop floor – passed by most shoppers as they head to the sales counter.

By engaging with the Optus in-store promotional opportunity, newsXpress members have unlocked for themselves a 100% increase in Optus recharge margin.

The Sticker Family has launched new stickers for family members in wheelchairs.  The new range has been selling well in newsXpress stores across Australia, they are a welcome extension to the popular range of My Family stickers from The Sticker Family.

newsXpress stores have embraced The Sticker Family opportunity to wonderful success for newsXpress members.  The marketing collateral generates new traffic for our stores when positioned out the front of our businesses.  The back end processes established in newsXpress businesses makes this range very efficient for us to sell.

Smurf Kinder Surprise sales success on impulse at the sales counter

newsXpress members are reporting excellent sales success with the Smurf themed Kinder Surprise candy and toy products.  Connecting with the bigger Smurf range sourced by the newsXpress merchandise team, this counter offer has proven to be an excellent basket building opportunity for proactive newsXpress members.  Some store report selling five and more double-layered units of these Smurf Kinder Surprise products.

Promoting calendars and boxed Christmas cards

newsXpress Terrigal has been promoting Hallmark boxed Christmas cards and a good range of 2012 calendars just inside their front door with this display.  Sales are already strong for both categories of products, delivering early seasonal sales.  By placing the two categories together, the newsXpress Terrigal team is able to use traffic generated by one to drive sales of the other and vice versa.  As trade evolves in the run up to Christmas and the New Year, the business will refresh and adjust its offers to make the most of opportunities.

Promoting the Facebook connection

Like many newsXpress members, newsXpress Glendale has established a Facebook page.  They are promoting this at their lottery counter with this simple reminder to shoppers as shown in the photo.  newsXpress Glendale makes special offers to customers who ‘like’ their Facebook page.  They also use this channel to communicate news to customers.

newsXpress Lismore Square has been promoting Complete Wedding magazine from newsXpress preferred supplier Universal Magazines with this promotional display placement at the front of the newsagency, facing shoppers as they enter the business.

This is a perfect time to be promoting wedding magazines and Complete Wedding is an excellent magazine to promote.

newsXpress members have access to bonus margin from Universal Magazines as a reward for achieving an agreed level of sales growth on a year on year basis.

Complete Wedding is one of a range of excellent titles from Universal which newsXpress members can support knowing that they have broader support from newsXpress.  Universal titles feature on our in store radio and other promotional channels.

newsXpress Top Ryde City has been promoting Optus handsets and Optus SIM packs with thanks to collateral and display units provided by Optus and our friends at Jenlist … a preferred supplier to newsXpress.  The tactical placement of the promotion at the counter ensures that it is seen by shoppers and opens the opportunity for impulse purchase.
