Excellent newsXpress member meeting in Melbourne

newsXpress members who participated in the member meeting in Melbourne last week are providing excellent feedback on the experience.

Hosted at the Kooyong tennis centre, right next to centre court, the event was an excellent mix of product and business management discussion. Several suppliers had special offers available and one of our FMCG suppliers, exclusive to newsXpress, shared valuable shopper basket insights based on a professional analysis of basket data from close to 30 newsXpress outlets.

newsXpress provides access to excellent supplier deals and backs these with commercially valuable insights that help stores convert supplier deals into cash in the bank sooner.

A feature of the meeting was a two-hour open forum  in which everyone participated, sharing ideas from their own businesses. The free-flowing discussion covered products, newspaper distribution, future changes in retail, shop leases, business planning, staffing and plenty of other topics. It was an excellent and open networking session. newsXpress members not at the meeting have been able to see comments from participants at our private communications page.

This small footprint stand fits nicely almost anywhere in-store. This makes it work especially as a traffic interrupter … perfect for driving impulse purchases.

Getting out early with collectible products like these Beanie Kids is important as loyal shoppers will appreciate the opportunity to get in early.

The newsXpress In Store Offers newsletter provided free to newsXpress members prior to the end of the month for the next month is loved by newsXpress members as it provides a professional marketing tool with which to promote their businesses.

The Blob and newsXpress a hit at GNS Market Fair in Melbourne

The Blob generated tremendous interest at GNS Market Fair in Melbourne over the weekend.

Newsagents loved the product and wanted to know where they could purchase from.

Several suppliers also asked where they could get the product from to sell to newsagents.

The Blob is exclusive to newsXpress. We are proud to have sourced such a popular and profitable product.

The GNS fair itself was a terrific event. We connected with many of our Victorian members and met with plenty of prospective new members. Our stand was a good place to talk about business opportunities and to explore ways of helping newsagents embrace change and make their businesses more valuable.

The relationship between newsXpress members and Coca Cola continues to evolve. What started as a good-value supply deal and a partnership with one of our other suppliers has evolved thanks to a wonderful app available for ordering replenishment product.

As the photo shows, an App is available for ordering product, making it even easier for newsXpress members to stock up Coke. This saves time and improves the accuracy of ordering.

newsXpress Maryborough in Victoria has engaged in smart placement of the 2013 One Direction calendar with a few pockets of the popular calendar with Girlfriend and Dolly magazine. This placement is in addition to placement elsewhere in-store. It’s smart as it drives the purchase of the calendar with magazines plus it draws attention to this part of the store and maybe gets people looking at the magazines who otherwise this visit not have done so.

newsXpress members have reported an excellent end to the 2011/12 financial year with many members sharing year on year sales data showing terrific sales growth in traditional categories and valuable business in new product categories.

Seeing year on year growth of 10% and more is not uncommon in newsXpress businesses.

The success makes us question the doom and gloom of the media and others talking out in the marketplace.
