Wild Republic enjoying success at newsXpress Bairnsdale and across the network

newsXpress Bairnsdale is promoting a broader range of the Wild Republic which was offered to newsXpress members at our national conference last month. This range is fun and engaging, connecting with a valuable shopper demographic and driving excellent impulse business. newsXpress stores, like Bairnsdale, which embraced the Wild Republic opportunity are reporting excellent results.

In addition to the fun of the Wild republic range is their commitment to education. Wild Republic educates children about the beauty and wonders of nature in entertaining and creative ways. Their products have been praised around the world. here in Australia they are supported by the Australia Zoo.

The quality and educational and social value of the Wild Republic range is unquestionable. This is why newsXpress is proud to be offering it in newsXpress stores and is thrilled to be enjoying excellent slew as a result.

The commercial and social success of Wild Republic is another example of the newsXpress difference. Sure we could source a cheap China knock-off. But it would not come with the added value and it is this added value which drives value for the business in the long term.

Brands are important in the newsagency channel, now more than ever. Those who do not get this will realise their mistake eventually. newsXpress has a plan and this is reflected in our preferred supplier product portfolio.

Brands beat cheap China product any day

Just ask some of the shareholders in major retailers what they think about the strategy of selling cheap China product. Many business leaders who thought price was a valuable business differential have found, in their sales and share price, that price leadership has a limited life value.

newsXpress focuses on known brands, brands people love and respect, brands shoppers seek out. There is excellent evidence that shoppers will pay more for a brand they know and trust. There is also excellent evidence that brands deliver repeat business.

newsXpress understands that it is the margin dollars you bank over time which matters most, far more than extra margin you may make off a couple of products which do not drive repeat business.

This is part of the newsXpress difference … well researched and considered business strategy which delivers good business today and repeat business tomorrow.

We believe in brands and that brands do matter to consumers. This is one reason for success benign enjoyed by newsXpress members in terns of traffic growth as well as sales growth.

April In-Store Offers newsletter helps in newsagency marketing

A week before the end of March newsXpress provided members with the April In Store Offers newsletter.  This is packed with news designed to help newsXpress members drive sales. A feature is that the newsletter can be personalised by members to present a newsletter from their specific business.  This means local newsXpress members show their local communities a newsletter with only their local store listed.

newsXpress provides the newsletter to members at no cost. Many use it in mail and email campaigns while others make sure that every shopper to the business receives a copy.

The newsletter is just one part of a comprehensive marketing strategy developed y newsXpress for newsXpress members … it’s another reason newsXpress stores are performing so well in this marketplace and why our members are targeted by others.

Placemats an excellent addition to newsXpress range

These educational placemats are an excellent addition to the range of educational themed products available from newsXpress stores.

Promoted as part of events at our National Conference in Melbourne last month, the placemats that were ordered are now arriving in-store and generating excellent results.

Parents, grandparents and friends love having such a valuable and enjoyable gift to give … a great way to educate kids.

newsXpress takes care to partner with suppliers who can provide quality products which our members will be proud to offer and their customers equally proud to give.

Great product deals and strategies and tactics for turning these into cash is the newsXpress difference.

Promoting technology products in Orange

newsXpress Orange is promoting technology products in-store with this display located next to ink and right near the sales counter.

Thanks to our preferred supplier jenlist, newsXpress members have access to a steady stream of handset and other deals with which to promote account acquisition for Optus – as shown in the photo.

newsXpress stores receive excellent support from Optus through Jenlist and this is helping drive excellent sales as a result.

Exclusive magazine management training for newsXpress retail employees

newsXpress this weeks hosts two training sessions for retail employees working in newsXpress stores. This employee training is part of our commitment to deliver valuable and exclusive training to people in newsXpress stores who are charged with executing day to day decisions in the magazine space.

Too often newsagency training is delivered to the owners of newsagency businesses. We are changing that.

newsXpress is running a series of training opportunities this year for retail employees and therefore helping those working newsXpress stores to develop their skill set and be more commercially valuable to the businesses in which they work.

Access to the training is free. The first two sessions are being run in Sydney on Tuesday and in Melbourne on Wednesday. Both sessions will be run after the close of business.

Additional training will be scheduled in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Gippsland in Victoria.

Each of the magazine training sessions will be conducted on the shop floor and run for around two hours.

We understand that newsXpress is the only newsagency marketing group offering these training opportunities for newsagency employees … further showing off the value we deliver to members and to those who work in newsXpress stores.

newsXpress is excited for the opportunity of this new training as it encodes key aspects of the newsXpress offer and shares valuable knowledge and processes which will help newsXpress newsagency businesses for many years to come.

Meeting with newsXpress members in Western Australia

Rob Henderson newsXpress Chief Operating Officer has been in Western Australia  meeting with members this week, overviewing strategies and discussing plans for the state … and acquiring new members. This visit is part of an on-going campaign of connecting with newsXpress members and sharing insights and advice which will help drive business growth.

newsXpress members love our In-Store offers newsletter

newsXpress members continue to embrace our EXCLUSIVE In-Store offers newsletter which comes out in time for the start of each month.

This is a genuine point of difference for newsXpress, something which shows off our commitment to national brands and which provides our members with an excellent marketing tool for their businesses at no cost.

This month’s newsXpress In-Store offers newsletter is all about Easter products and the wonderful $10,000 in prizes offer for shoppers purchasing New Idea, That’s Life, Who, Famous, Better Homes & Gardens and Marie Claire. It is packed with news and opportunities which reinforce the value of shopping at newsXpress.

Amazing result from Toy Fair shopping day

newsXpress members banded together for a commercially stunning day at the Melbourne Toy Fair over a week ago. Suppliers closed their stands to other Toy Fair visitors for our group, so we could see their products without interruption.

This exclusive shopping day was a tremendous and valuable show of unity by newsXpress members. Participating members gained access to special deals and some wonderful products learnings through the course of the day.

newsXpress members flew in from around Australia to participate in this event and the newsXpress National Conference which was held the next day.

Suppliers participating in the exclusive buying day experience are thrilled with the result. Now that they have had an opportunity to tote up the value, they are all keen to participate with newsXpress in a similar exclusive buying day again.

newsXpress Conference redefines the newsagency marketing group offer for 2012

The newsXpress national conference in Melbourne yesterday saw close to 200 people fill the conference centre for a day of fast-paced, valuable and commercially confidential sessions. Unlocking deals and opportunities for newsXpress members, the conference has kicked off 2012 in a proactive and positive way.

Based on newsagency conferences over the years, we expect this to be the biggest newsagency conference, except maybe outside the ACP Connections conference, the channel will see in 2012.

newsXpress members loved the event, staying right through to the close at 5:30pm.

Suppliers loved the event and the face to face time they had with newsXpress members.

Elliot Goblet was a wonderful, engaged, savvy MC. He made the day more fun and helped us laugh at ourselves.

newsXpress shared its vision for 2012 and beyond, suppliers enhanced this with their vision for working with newsXpress members in 2012 and beyond. In our closed member-only session we shared data which changed the way newsXpress members see the success they can achieve.

The long full day even was capped off with a wonderful evening of wonderful five-star food and drinks on the 89th floor of the Eureka Tower. Some conference attended also got to spend time on the observation desk, looking through a glass floor over Melbourne.

It is difficult to put into words what the conference and the pre-conference buying day at the Toy Fair has meant for participating newsXpress members. While it was a commercial, social and personal success, what the 200 or so attendees take back to their businesses will be seen in business results this year and beyond.

We are all excited for 2012 and beyond and what we will achieve together.

newsXpress members embrace Toy Fair opportunity

newsXpress is hosting a guided tour of the Melbourne Toy Fair later this week. Meeting with selected Toy manufacturers and wholesalers, newsXpress members will get to see new products and access special offers as a valuable and appreciated entry to the growing, for newsXpress stores, toy space.

Running the day prior to our national conference, the guided Toy Fair visit is another way newsXpress is adding value to newsXpress member businesses, guiding ranging decisions and unlocking excellent deals.

Our approach to Toy Fair is an excellent example of newsXpress demonstrating the importance of brand and the value of the group working together.

newsXpress members loving the Sydney gift fair opportunity

newsXpress members attending the Sydney Gift Fair over the last few days have benefited from newsXpress assistance with supplier connection. We hosted a drinks evening and caught up with members through the days. Connecting exclusively with our members in a co-ordinated approach has produced better outcomes for our members.

Beanie Kids Easter promotion at newsXpress Ballarat

newsXpress Ballarat has the newsXpress Beanie Kids Easter promotion setup in-store and facing shoppers as they enter the newsagency.

Being promoted nationally across all newsXpress stores, the Easter Beanie Kid products are sure to be a sell out hit … just like the Christmas Beanie Kid packs sold out across our retail network.

newsXpress supports respected and well-known brands like Beanie Kids because brands drive traffic and sales. As a national brand ourselves we understand the importance and value of brands.

While cheap China product can sometimes carry a better margin, shoppers are less likely to remember where they purchased a product on price compared to where they purchased a brand they know and love. Anyone can differentiate on price. few can differentiate around respected brands … like Beanie Kids.

Virgin Mobile Broadband promotion at East Maitland

newsXpress East Maitland is another of the newsXpress locations which has been promoting the Virgin Mobile Broadband offer in-store diving sales of Virgin Mobile products and providing shoppers an opportunity to win one of two scooters valued at over $2,000 in a newsXpress exclusive in-store promotion.

We are thrilled to bring such exciting retail competitions and margin boosting opportunities to newsXpress members.

Promoting Better Homes and Gardens at newsXpress Bairnsdale

newsXpress Bairnsdale has been promoting Better Homes and Gardens magazine with this excellent high-impac in-location display in-store.  It’s bold, attention-grabbing and successful. Having been up since the launch of the magazine it is the type of display which accounts for excellent success for Better Homes and Gardens at newsXpress Bairnsdale in country Victoria.

Better Homes and Gardens is from pacific magazines a strategic partner of newsXpress.  We have only two strategic partnersHallmark Cards and Pacific Magazines.

Thanks to Pacific Magazines, newsXpress members have access to floor stock to enable us to get replenishment stock while other retailers sell out. This helps us achieve our fullest sales potential.

Displays like this one at newsXpress Bairnsdale for a key Pacific Magazines title is part of our commitment to support their titles. The reward is wonderful sales growth.

Virgin Mobile Broadband promotion at Wollongbar

newsXpress Wollongbar has been promoting Virgin Mobile Broadband at the entrance to the newsagency, right at the sales counter.  The Virgin Mobile offer is one which has been running right across the newsXpress network as part of a commitment around mobile recharge margin.  This simple tactical placement is all about driving brand awareness and leveraging impulse purchases of the Virgin Mobile Broadband offer.

Introducing gifts at newsXpress Rutherglen

newsXpress Rutherglen slightly trimmed display space allocated to magazines and introduced an expansion to the gift offer in-store – as shown in the photo.

The change at newsXpress Ruthergen was completed as part of magazine range review and the result, thanks to a small shop fitting change is this selection of homewares gifts next to magazines.

While we understand and respect magazines and their very important place in the product mix in a vibrant and growing newsXpress store, occasionally, thanks to a data based range review, we are able to unlock space for more product, This is what has been done at newsXpress Rutherglen – creating a win win … magazine sales growth and gift sales growth.

The move at newsXpress Rutherglen was achieved with a very small capital investment for a good commercial outcome.  This is excellent for the business and for the newsXpress preferred suppliers who now have better representation in the business.

retail today is all about serving the customer. This requires data based business decisions tweaking and finessing your business to serve your customers. This is exactly what is being done at newsXpress Rutherglen.

newsXpress Grovedale display wins award

Congratulations to newsXpress Grovedale for winning an award from ACP magazines for this display for Wheels magazine.

We love this display as it brings to life the magazine it is promoting in a way which will connect with the target purchaser of the title … perfect for visual merchandising.

newsXpress believes in magazines and feels that they play an important role in traffic generation and basked building in newsXpress newsagency businesses across Australia.

Congratulations to everyone at newsXpress Grovedale who made this display happen … it’s excellent!
