newsXpress preferred supplier sticks to newsXpress exclusive offer

A newsagent who had recently left newsXpress called our National Account Manager at Big Balloon to place a Beanie Boo order. Big Balloon advised the store that they could no longer honour the newsXpress exclusive discounted pricing offer now that they have left newsXpress. It was also mentioned to this store that they will need to open a new account and go on pro forma for 3 orders.

We are told the newsagent was disappointed, claiming they were lead to believe that the group they had joined could get the same offer.  This is not the case.

Big Balloon has no other national relationship with any other group outside of newsXpress.

Big Balloon made it clear to this store that the newsXpress relationship is paramount and that the offer integrity will remain for newsXpress members only . We share this to highlight to members that by acting as a group this is the type of support we can get, it also highlights that Big Balloon are towing the line and acknowledging the relationship forged with newsXpress.

newsXpress launches training videos

As announced at the newsXpress national conference last week, we have completed production on ten new training videos. These are the next step of an expanded training suite of services from newsXpress for newsXpress members, delivering access to  a growing resource you will be able to use to share with your team members and to use yourself. Our feeling is that video based training will be appreciated because of the flexibility you will have in tapping into the resources as and when it suits you.

Produced by us in house, these latest videos reflect a new skill set within the newsXpress team. They also demonstrate a platform we will use to deliver some training previously delivered by RDMs. Some of these videos reflect content from the conference. The two on outposting cover content we had to eliminate on the day because of time over-runs. Here are the new videos available to you:

Congratulations to Margaret Carmody

newsXpress member Margaret Carmody was been named last week the Most Inspiring Woman of Boorowa in an community award timed to coincide with celebrations for the 2012 International Woman’s Day.

This is wonderful recognition of hard work, family commitment and much appreciated community involvement from Margaret in her work as owner of newsXpress Boorowa.

Congratulations to the team at newsXpress Wetherill Park for winning General Retailers of the Year for the second year running for their Stockland shopping centre.

This latest award is well deserved kudos for the newsXpress Wetherill Park team headed by Ginella and Antonella.  They run an excellent business which is a delight to shop and enjoy.  The results of their hard and creating work are shown not only in awards but also in the results of the business.

Engaging in most newsXpress promotions, this business is also a testament to the opportunities presented by newsXpress and its partner suppliers.

Funeral Notice for Garry Angus

The funeral for newsXpress member Garry Angus (of newsXpress Bendigo) will be held Thursday October 27, 2011 at 1:30PM at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, McCrae Street, Bendigo.

The offers of support from newsXpress members and newsXpress suppliers have been overwhelming and heartwarming.

The funeral next Thursday provides an opportunity to remember a wonderful man who loved life and lit up the room.

newsXpress at ACP Connections Conference (part 2)

Western Australian Newsagents Enjoy One-Day Conference

perth-mtg.JPGThe one day newsagency conference newsXpress hosted in Perth earlier this week was well attended and much appreciated based on feedback from participating newsagents and newsagency suppliers.  Sharing business building ideas and strategies, the conference showed off the newsXpress point of difference beautifully … showing how membership of newsXpress delivers a different and valuable experience to participating newsagents.  Welcoming new members in Western Australia to newsXpress was a real treat.

Employee of the Month at newsXpress Watergardens

Congratulations to Jayden, a team member at our newsXpress Watergardens store has won Staff Member of the Month out of all of the retail team members in all businesses at the Watergardens Town Centre.  Our store manager nominated Jayden in recognition of his excellent customer service skills and how he performs as part of our team.  There is a small cash prize, a certificate and promotion in the centre newsletter.  Well done Jayden!

We were made most welcome by the Hillier team and given an excellent meeting room stocked with delicious chocolates including their whole Easter range. Note the large bunny on the shelf above the team. This is a chocolate lovers delight.
