newsXpress at ACP Connections Conference (part 4)

salamander.JPGAdrian and Fiona Matthews of newsXpress Salamander Bay got into the swing of the Havana night theme of the ACP Connections Conference last week.

No wonder shoppers at newsXpress Salamander Bay enjoy shopping …. if these costumes set the fun tone of the business!

Kudos to all of the newsXpress members who dressed up – you did us proud in the engagement and fun stakes!

newsXpress at ACP Connections Conference (part 3)

nxpmanagement.JPGnewsXpress Directors Graham Randall and Mark Fletcher and General Manager Ben Kay took a break from the ACP Cpnnections Conference Dinner on Thursday for this photo.  It was a terrific night, an occasion of which newsXpress and its members can bee most proud for our positive approach to the future not only of our businesses but the newsagency channel.  We did well at the awards and during conference sessions which reinforced much of what newsXpress offers members and done to drive traffic and sales.

newsXpress at ACP Connections Conference (part 2)

nxpcto.JPGMore newsXpress members get together at the dinner which was part of the ACP Connections Conference in Sydney last week.  Networking is a key benefit of newsXpress membership and the ACP Connections conference provided an excellent opportunity for this.  It was terrific seeing newsXpress members socialising with each other between courses and the awards.  In the photo is Geoff Hilder from newsXpress Top Ryde City, Graham Randall newsXpress Director and Annie Lieu from newsXpress castle Towers.

newsXpress at ACP Connections Conference (part 1)

nxpacpconf.JPGMore newsXpressers got together just outside the ballroom at the ACP Connections Conference Dinner last Thursday for a photo and some fun.  With so many of our members at the conference it was hard to get all of us together at the one time for a real group photo.  newsXpress was the largest single group represented at the conference … and a proud and happy group we were too!

newsXpress Winners at ACP Connections Awards

nxwinners.JPGCongratulations to newsXpress Gympie for taking out the Promotion of the Year Award and to newsXpress Harbour Town for taking our runner up position for the Newsagency of the Year Award.  Congratulations to newsXpress Ballarat for being announced a finalist in the Newsagency of the Year award.  This is wonderful and well deserved recognition for three quality newsagency businesses run by skilled, proactive and happy retailers and their teams.  They do the newsXpress brand proud.  Congratulations to everyone involved in these businesses!

newsXpress Love at the GNS Market Fair in Perth

gnswanx.JPGnewsXpress had a large stand at the GNS Market Fair in Perth yesterday.  The stand was run by our Ben Kay and Rob Henderson.  They met with plenty of prospective newsXpress members, existing members and industry suppliers.

The Market Fair was an excellent trade show with a steady stream of newsagent visitors across the day.

Our stand featured banners promoting our strategic partners as well as our 125 preferred suppliers.  We also had our marketing collateral for coming seasons – Father’s Day, Halloween and Back to School –  on display.

The stand played a slide show with some of our newsXpress success stories.  It also featured a sit down area for people to relax and discuss newsXpress.

Selling Angry Birds Helps Drive iTunes and Other Digital Sales

angrybirds-rosebud.JPGShoppers at newsXpress Rosebud can get their Angry Birds game fix at the counter thanks to the impulse unit facing all shoppers.  Indeed, shoppers at many newsXpress stores can purchase Angry Birds plush.  It is proving to be a very smart move bringing this line into the newsXpress product mix as these plush items are more than  just plush items.  They connect newsXpress stores with the Angry Birds game – the top selling iTunes game around the world.

Since we sell iTunes cards, the plush items give us a connection to the game.  The plush makes us more relevant, better connected, hip in the eyes of Angry Birds fans. You can see it on their faces when they see the plush, for many it is the first time they discovered that they could ur Angry Birds plush. That they made the discovery in newsXpress is wonderful for us and for our brand.

This is newsXpress innovation on show.  Product leadership which separates us from other newsagency marketing groups.

newsXpress Launceston … Bold and Noticeable

launceston-signage.JPGnewsXpress Launceston has making an impact in town with this bold newsXpress signage on the front of their newsagency.

The newsagency business underneath the signage is an equally strong promotion of all that newsXpress stands for: great service, excellent product knowledge, local engagement and good shopping deals.

newsXpress is thrilled to have the newsXpress Launceston team on the newsXpress team.

Landlords Appreciate newsXpress Shopping Centre Landlord Campaign

Shopping centre landlords are appreciating the latest communication and engagement campaign which newsXpress started a few weeks ago.

With many newsXpress locations in shopping centres, newsXpress leadership created a carefully considered and rounded communication campaign to help landlords understand the value of a newsXpress tenancy.

Landlords and Centre Managers are responding with appreciation for the deeper understanding and opportunities for enhanced engagement with newsXpress and newsXpress members.

Our exclusive national TV and print advertising campaigns demonstrate the investment newsXpress is making to drive traffic to shopping centres.  This alone separates newsXpress from other newsagency marketing groups.  By investing to bring in traffic we are being seen as different and more valuable to any other newsagency marketing group.

newsXpress is not stopping at TV and print to drive traffic.  We have taken landlords into our confidence and shared details of other newsXpress exclusive activity which is driving traffic and building businesses of which landlords can be proud.

It is easy for a newsagency marketing group to say that they have a good relationship with landlords and another thing entirely to walk the walk and consistently deliver a valuable and mutually respectful relationship.  This is the newsXpress difference.  Our members see it every day.  Actions do speak louder than words.

newsXpress Leadership Team Planning for 2012

The newsXpress leadership team of Ben Kay, Graham Randall and Mark Fletcher met recently in Perth to review 2011 so far and to start planning for 2012. With membership and preferred supplier numbers growing, 2012 is set to be another good year for the group. Key to making the most of opportunities from our community of proactive newsagents and supportive suppliers is careful planning.

Western Australian Newsagents Enjoy One-Day Conference

perth-mtg.JPGThe one day newsagency conference newsXpress hosted in Perth earlier this week was well attended and much appreciated based on feedback from participating newsagents and newsagency suppliers.  Sharing business building ideas and strategies, the conference showed off the newsXpress point of difference beautifully … showing how membership of newsXpress delivers a different and valuable experience to participating newsagents.  Welcoming new members in Western Australia to newsXpress was a real treat.

Fourteen New Preferred Suppliers for newsXpress Members

newsXpress has announced details of fourteen new preferred suppliers joining the newsXpress newsagency marketing group community.  These fourteen preferred suppliers takes our current preferred supplier roster to 118.

These 118 preferred suppliers offer newsXpress members access to a broad range of products at excellent prices and on excellent terms … leading pricing and terms which position newsXpress member businesses competitively.

More important that the exclusive preferred supplier suite is the marketing, merchandising and strategy services offered by newsXpress to help members drive bankable margin from these products.  For it is one thing to have access to good deals and another thing entirely to be able to turn the deals into cash.  This is where the newsXpress difference comes into action.

More than a buying group, newsXpress offers products and support services to help newsXpress members extract maximum value from membership of the group.

newsXpress Bishops Goondiwindi 100 Years This Year

bishops-goondiwindi-100.jpgnewsXpress Bishops Goondiwindi celebrates 100 years of trading this year. What a tremendous achievement for the Bishop family … 100 years of ownership by the one family!  We are thrilled for the Bishop family that they are reaching such an extraordinary milestone.  We are also thrilled for the town of Goondiwindi and their role in this milestone.

newsXpress understands the importance of family in newsagencies as well as in the communities in which we serve.  Through community engagement, product selection, marketing and other activities, we seek to support families and communities.  It is this support which drives support for newsXpress businesses.

the success of newsXpress Goondiwindi is a testament to the energy and commitment of the Bishop family to Goondiwindi and support from the community to the business in return.

The Klutz range of books comes packed in counter unit books so the team regularly rotates one of the ranges of books to the counter.

Well done newsXpress Inverloch.
