newsXpress in fine company

newsXpress is in fine company in its support for the RSPCA’s Happy Tails campaign this year.  Check out the list of corporate sponsors at the Happy tails website.

We are supporting Happy Tails with in-store fund raising and promoting awareness for the event.  We are happy to contribute as part of our commitment to social responsibility. We feel good about contributing, our customers feel good and the RSPCA benefits.

Our support for Happy Tails is another way newsXpress is promoting its brand away from the more traditional newsagency offer.

HOT ink! 12 off and running

hotink_12.jpgnewsXpress’ exclusive ink promotion, HOT ink! is running again.  The latest promotion, our twelfth, delivers newsXpress store access to brand name ink and toner at highly competitive prices.  The catalogue promoting the ink has been delivered to close to 1 million letterboxes around Australia for a considerably lower cost per drop than previous catalogues.  HOT ink! goes from strength to strength, attracting new customers and driving excellent add-on business once they are in-store.

This is the newsXpress point of difference in action – a national brand based marketing campaign which promotes the newsXpress brand as the go-to place for ink and toner.  This combats consumer sentiment that newsagencies are expensive places to shop.

The newsXpress merchandise and marketing teams have done an excellent job with this latest promotion.  In addition to the catalogues, they have provides wobblers, posters and other in-store collateral.

STATIONERY NOW! at newsXpress

stationery_now.jpgnewsXpress members are supporting our exclusive STATIONERY NOW! promotion with brilliant in-store displays supporting the excellent range of branded stationery items on offer.  Brands like Scotch, Post-it, Spirax, Bostik, Duracel, Bic, Marbig, UHU, Pentel and Artline feature in the catalogue.

Created by the newsXpress merchandise and marketing team to provide a boost to stationery sales in what is usually a quiet period, the STATIONERY NOW! flyer shows that newsXpress locations have brands consumers trust at excellent prices.

The flyer has been delivered to close to 1 million letterboxes around Australia. This is driving traffic. The great collateral provided is helping convert the traffic into sales.

STATIONERY NOW! is the newsXpress difference on show.

Their support for the latest newsXpress stationery promotion shows how the two can work well together.

Close to 1 million Stationery Now brochures are being delivered to letterboxes around the country thanks to the national campaign developed by the newsXpress marketing team.

Three new greenfield locations

newsXpress is pleased to be working with landlords on three new greenfield locations.  All three are expected to be open before Christmas.  Two locations will be owned by newsXpress members and one will be corporately owned.

In each case, newsXpress was approached by the landlord to bring our brand and all we stand for to the centre.

Having a brand which landlords want gives us an opportunity on a range of fronts including negotiating costs going into a new location and other terms around the establishment of the new business.

How we achieved these three new locations is another example off the newsXpress difference in play.

Anyone looking to buy a newsagency should talk with newsXpress as we receive opportunities like these three often.

Christmas promotion launched

newsXpress yesterday launched to members details of our Christmas promotion.  This exciting promotion is filled with traffic generating products which present newsXpress locations as having unique products at competitive prices.  The promotion will be supported by the newsXpress national promotion campaign.

Helping build margin

newsXpress has confidentially announced to members another victory in building a healthier margin from traditional product for newsagents.  Our latest success is further evidence of our commitment to robust negotiation on behalf of our members with traditional newsagent suppliers.

Our committed membership base of proactive newsagents makes newsXpress appealing to suppliers.  We are able to leverage this to help our members play outside traditional terms for newsagents in some key areas.

The latest announcement caps several margin building initiatives for newsagents already this year.

3M planograms drive excellent sales

nx_3m.JPGThe commercial value from newsXpress is boldly on show in newsXpress locations across the country with the roll out of our 3M planograms.  Developed exclusively with 3M, these layouts are created on a store by store basis and considering the existing commitment to stationery.  Leveraging the respected Post-it, Command and Scotch brands, newsXpress members are reporting excellent sales as well as compliments from shoppers.

From one metre through to four metres, our 3M planograms are driving traffic and sales and demonstrating the newsXpress difference in action for our members.

This is another initiative of Rob Henderson our National Merchandise Manager and the newsXpress merchandise team.

newsXpress helps members achieve great sales of Prevention magazine

fhn_prevention_sep09.JPGnewsXpress is pleased to have been able to help many members access additional stock for the launch issue of Prevention magazine.  As soon as we saw sales data half way through the first day on-sale we knew Prevention would sell very well.  We put out a call to members and those who responded were able to secure backup stock thansk to Gordon & Gotch and Pacific Magazines before supplies ran out.  Early intervention  by newsXpress driven by good sales data helped many of our members achieve excellent sales results.

This is another example of the newsXpress difference at work.  We work hard for our members on big projects and small.  Mutual engagement is the key to success.

Great because newsXpress members bagged three of the four awards announced and great because it was such a good evening. Lots of laughter and lots of catching up. newsXpress was proud to be a sponsor of the awards again this year – reinvesting in the newsagency channel.

In the photo are some of the winners of the evening: Vanessa James, Employee of the Year, from newsXpress Lowood; Warrick Hosking, inaugural New Technology Newsagent of the Year, newsXpress Gympie and Mark and Shelley Petersen, Retail Newsagent of the Year, newsXpress Sarina.
