newsXpress members has got behind the latest issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine by promoting it with terrific displays as well as via tactical placement – as shown in the photo.

While big bold displays are important, it can often be the tactical placement of a floor display unit, like the one in the photo, next top newspapers or at the entrance to the newsagency which delivers an excellent sales lift for Better Homes and Gardens.

newsXpress recommends the placement of a floor display unit at the front of the shop or a stack of copies at the counter and or with newspapers especially Thursday through Sunday for the month. This is where Better Homes and Gardens works the best thanks to the wonderful TV show.

Customers chasing cash with That’s Life magazine

That’s Life magazine from Pacific Magazines has been selling well in newsXpress locations thanks to the opportunity to win cash in the latest issue.  The magazine is bagged so that shoppers can’t see if their copy has the cash. Once they purchase the magazine they can open it to page 19 and see if they have cash there.

This is a terrific competition. newsXpress members have been responding by co-location That’s Life – placing it prominently in the usual location for That’s Life as well as a second location … with the newspapers or at the counter.

newsXpress members embrace competitions like this as they encourage local shoppers to consider newsXpress for magazines ahead of other retailers.

Last day promoting the Pacific Magazines WIN A CAR competition

newsXpress Knox City, one of our corporate stores, has been promoting the last days of the Pacific magazines WIN A CAR competition with a massive display behind the main counter and a self-serve display in front of the counter, featuring many of the titles in the promotion. The idea behind the two lavers of display is to capture attention of those who only link right in front of them as well as those who look ahead.

The WIN A CAR promotion has been a wonderful success at Knox and throughout newsXpress stores thanks to active engagement at store level among the team members responsible for magazines.

We hope that the sales lift and fun around the competition has been wonderful and worthwhile. We know the results for our corporate stores and it’s terrific.

Promoting State of Origin

newsXpress Sarina went all out promoting the start of the State of Origin series.  Besides an excellent range of clothing, which sold out, they used prime counter space for promoting the Heroes of Origin from ACP Magazines.

This counter display drove incremental purchases of the magazine and subtly promoted other Origin products available from the store.

It was the clothing display which was stunning. Just inside the door and offering a range of tops in a good selection of sizes, the good people of Sarina are certainly dressed for victory.

Terrific Slow Cooker 2 display

newsXpress Gympie is promoting Slow Cooker 2 from ACP Magazines in-store with this terrific live cooking show featuring the Gympie Chef.

Beyond the visual theatre are the smells as a tasty meal cooks through the day as part of the live display.

The real delight comes from tasting the meal which has cooked in-store throughout the day. Yum!

Stunning slow cooker presentation at newsXpress Grovedale

Well done to the newsXpress Grovedale team for their amazing display promoting the ACP Slow Cooker 2 cookbook.  One day last week the display was taken to new heights with a chef in for the day cooking a delicious meal.

Complete with crystal stemware, red wine, flowers, real fine china crockery, silver cutlery and the finest of irish linen, the in-store event created a wonderful buzz. The Slow Cooker 2 recipe filled newsXpress Grovedale with delicious smells.

Grand Designs Australia a hit for newsXpress members

The launch issue of Grand Designs Australia is proving to be a hit for newsXpress members. In addition to bonus margin and delayed billing, newsXpress members are able to access additional stock to serve shopper needs and make the best return possible form the title.

At the counter, next to newspapers, with weeklies and with home and living titles … Grand Designs Australia is working everywhere. newsXpress members continue to report sales well into the on-sale.

This title looks like it will achieve an excellent sell-through … very nice.

Bride to Be shoppers could WIN A CAR!

newsXpress members are loving the WIN A CAR! promotion which is being run with strategic partner Pacific Magazines. One tittle being promoted as part of this popular campaign is Bride to be. Using the marketing collateral from pacific and simply placing a header card behind the magazine, newsXpress members are able to connect this title with the campaign which is running throughout the store. It’;s a simple way to get shoppers to take a second look at a title from a busy magazine display.

Whether it’s at the title level or overall in-store the WIN A CAR! campaign is working a treat. newsXpress members are exploring wonderful creative and tactical ways to make the most of the opportunity.

Promoting Slow Cooker 2 as a gift

newsXpress Knox City in Victoria had success promoting Slow Cooker 2 as a Month’s Day gift with this display at the main sales counter and a promotion at the front of the store pointing into the shopping mall.

The creative team at Knox showed shoppers that this title was an ideal gift for mum this Mother’s Day. It worked especially well for last minute shoppers thanks to the sales counter placement in-store.

Slow Cooker 2 has come out at the right time with Winter around the corner and slow cooker season now cranking into action. newsXpress stores are reporting excellent sales as a result of a broad range of in-store activity.

Grand Designs Australia is proving to be a popular title with some ordering additional stock already. We encourage not only newsXpress members but all newsagents to actively promote the title to make the most of such a high-profile product launch.

Lovers of slow cooker cooking have been waiting for this new title from ACP.

The original Slow Cooker title was a runaway success for newsXpress stores – ACP has to airfreight extra stock in just for us, to satisfy newsXpress shopper demand! Will we repeat that sales success with this new title? We hope so. Slow Cooker 2 is packed with new recipes, delicious recipes with which to tempt family and friends.

newsXpress members are being tactical in placement, promoting the title in high traffic areas where it is most likely to be purchased on impulse. They are also supporting this with excellent promotional displays as shown in the photo.

newsXpress members were proactive with Slow Cooker 2 prior to publication thanks to a pre-order campaign promoted to members. the pre-order form enables newsXpress members to take orders and get payment prior to the title actually going on sale.

With supermarkets not set to get Slow Cooker 2 for weeks yet, newsXpress members are making the most of the opportunity from ACP Magazines.

The ACP cookbook range is an important part of the magazine mix in a newsXpress newsagents. Our goal is for members to carry all current titles which is usually around 25 titles of the regular format and a similar number of the smaller format titles.
