newsXpress Beechworth embraces Halloween

beechworth-halloween.JPGnewsXpress Beechworth is embracing Halloween for the first time with this terrific display in the middle of the high-traffic dance floor.  From the newsXpress Halloween marketing collateral to the great range of product on offer, Beechworth is set for some Halloween fun.

As with all newsXpress stores embracing Halloween, the newsXpress national merchandise team has sourced a broad range of products from the regular Halloween offer through to some exclusive lines – all good margin yet at competitive prices. We have backed this up with excellent in-store collateral and out of store marketing.

Well done to Beechworth for embracing Halloween. We want to see photos of the staff costumes as we get closer to the big day!

Halloween at newsXpress Woden (ACT)

woden-halloween.jpgnewsXpress Woden has Halloween setup on the dance floor, in a perfect high traffic location from which to drive impulse purchases.  Customers heading into the store for greeting cards, magazines, newspapers and stationery pass right by this display without a need divert from their track.  Stacked from the floor up, the display offers a good range of Halloween product.

Fun Halloween recipes from newsXpress

newsxpress-halloween-rec.jpgnewsXpress has published two pages of Halloween recipes for newsXpress members to give away to customers.

The recipes are part of our strategy to help our stores encourage customers to turn Halloween into a fun family occasion.  They also demonstrate the newsXpress difference in action.

newsXpress members have the recipes on display with Halloween product as well as on offer from the counter.  They are an important element in showing that Halloween at newsXpress is a unique and more valuable experience.

Promoting the Halloween voice changer

halloween-voicechanger.jpgnewsXpress has provided members with collateral with which to promote the Hallmark Halloween voice changer – a differentiating and fun offer for Halloween this year.  The collateral is eye-catching and promotes the two price points: $14.95 or just $9.95 if the customer purchases three Hallmark greeting cards.

This is a terrific cross category promotion from newsXpress.  The overall Halloween strategy further demonstrates the value of an engaged marketing group as Halloween attracts new traffic and guides existing traffic to spend more.

newsXpress and Halloween worked together to bring the voice changer to market for Halloween this year.

Halloween moves at newsXpress Knox

knoxhal1.JPGnewsXpress Knox has relocated Halloween to present the season in a couple of locations in-store.  This small display in the photo is facing into the mall, promoting the season to people who may not usually shop at newsXpress Knox.  Capped with newsXpress Halloween marketing collateral and featuring key fun items from the season, this display is a key reason for excellent sales already for the season.

Sunbury people love Halloween at newsXpress

sunbury-halloween.jpgnewsXpress Sunbury is tracking excellent business from its front window Halloween display. As they note of their Facebook page: Halloween is near…it’s frightfully busy, dangerously fun, and we won’t cope with a skeleton staff.  Using Facebook as well as traditional marketing to promote Halloween reinforces another point of difference in newsXpress stores for this valuable and enjoyable season.

If you live or shop in Sunbury, get the newsXpress Sunbury and have yourself a scary and fun time with Halloween.

Fun Halloween headbands from Gund

halloween-headgear.JPGThe Gund Halloween headbands are a nice point of difference to the mix of products for Halloween on offer to newsXpress stores.  While other retailers doing Halloween focus on the basics of broomsticks and witches hats, newsXpress has sought out a broad range of items, like these light up headbands, to go beyond the traditional.

The ever expanding depth of our Halloween range is a testament to the commitment of newsXpress to helping members grow their businesses.

Halloween at newsXpress Mortdale

mortdale-halloween.jpgnewsXpress Mortdale has Halloween in a couple of locations in-store, leveraging the season for all it is worth.  This co-location approach makes good use of the available space and the commercial outcome from the stock and space investment.  Given the browsing approach of shoppers, it provides multiple opportunities to convert to Halloween sales.

Halloween lifts the retail store, bringing fun to the browsing experience.  This is one of the reasons we got behind the season years ago.

Halloween at newsXpress Macarthur

macarthur-halloween.JPGnewsXpress Macarthur is another newsXpress store reporting good sales from Halloween this year.  Their window display is attracting customer into the store.  Once inside, there is a good range of scary and fun product from which to choose.

Many newsXpress stores are reporting the need to order additional product following strong early sales.  Halloween is proving to be a longer season than some other newsagency seasons.

This is the first time newsXpress Macarthur has done Halloween and while it is early days customers appear to be loving the new category.

Halloween at newsXpress Caboolture

caboolture-halloween.jpgnewsXpress Caboolture has their terrific Halloween product offer facing customers as they enter the store.  They have a good range of fun products for trick or treating as well as Halloween parties at home.

It is this kind of display which sets newsXpress Caboolture apart from the traditional newsagency and reflects another piece of the newsXpress difference.  We are thrilled that newsXpress members like newsXpress Caboolture embrace opportunities like Halloween and embrace the opportunity of change.

With three weeks to go, Halloween is hotting up and generating some good sales.

Top shelf Halloween items selling well

wg-hal-range.JPGnewsXpress Watergardens is promoting Halloween at several locations in-store.  This display in the photo, click on the image for a larger version, is being promoted in a table which is facing into the main mall.  This table is drawing tremendous attention because of the unique, top shelf, mix of items on sale – they go beyond what shoppers will see in most stores playing in the Halloween space.

As so many other newsXpress members are reporting, Halloween is going off early this year.   New traffic, good margin, excellent sales … a great retail story.

Promoting Halloween garden lights

watergardens-hal-lights.JPGnewsXpress Watergardens is promoting the exclusive to newsXpress Halloween garden lights in what looks like an old chest with fog wafting across and in between the lights.

This is a very effective looking display which is getting shoppers to pick up a light and ask what it is.

Success with Halloween is all about creating retail theatre … and having fun.

newsXpress Kin Kora loving Halloween!

kinkora-halloween-2010-001.jpgnewsXpress Kin Kora is having an amazing Halloween 2010.  Read just how great in their own words:

We ordered up big for Halloween. It wasn’t big enough. I have just placed a top up order for a number of items (the basics, fake blood etc) because I’ve sold out already. I ordered 25% more than last year (more of some units depending on how early I sold through last year). I’m guessing this is because the catalogue has been distributed.

People are spending $20 on average for Halloween. One lady spent $250 on little things.

The picture of my window is not great (neither is the window display because I’ve sold a couple of $150 items out of the window in the last 3 days).

I hope every member gets into Halloween in 2011. We started very little and now it is a major event! I knew 2010 would be big, but re-ordering on the 5th of October means it will be massive!

Click on the photo to see the window display.  It looks terrific even with some key items sold out of the window.

Halloween takes over newsXpress Wetherill Park

wetherill-hall2.JPGFrom the entrance to deep into the store, Halloween has taken over newsXpress Wetherill Park.  Using newsXpress collateral and an excellent mix of Halloween product, the store has been transformed to reflect the fun and excitement of the Halloween season.  Well done to everyone involved in this display!
