Everyone involved at Eli Waters ought to be very proud of the display.

The photo shows Shayne and Roslyn Clarke of newsXpress Cooma with a happy customer receiving her free Sony digital camera.  This is a scene repeated across the country in newsXpress locations.  Our members appreciate promotions liks this where a local customer is the winner – this reinforces our local connection.

Sensational marketing collateral supporting ink and toner offer

newsxpress_hot_ink.JPGnewsXpress has released sensational marketing collateral supporting the latest HOT Ink! ink and toner campaign being run in newsXpress outlets.

The marketing collateral, provided free to participating newsXpress members, includes double sided colour A2 posters (10 per store – 250GSM double sided gloss paper) , colour shelf labels and colour shelf talkers for feature products.

This collateral connects with the colour A4 flyers printed for newsXpress members to distribute to homes and businesses around their stores.

The artwork is a departure from the traditional pricelist type flyer used by newsagents for ink.   We tested this approach last time and the consumer reaction was excellent.

It is rare that newsagents have access to such professional and cohesive marketing collateral connecting a campaign from the stock shelves through the store and out to consumer letterboxes and even rarer that such high quality collateral is provided free of charge.

newsXpress is proud to have taken ink and toner marketing to a new level and is certain that newsXpress members who fully embrace the new co-ordinated collateral will reap excellent sales rewards as a result.

The comprehensive and co-ordinated approach newsXpress has taken with HOT Ink! is a perfect example of the newsXpress difference at work.  Place this material next to any other for ink and compare for yourself.  Our collateral shows an attention to detail and to the needs of newsagency customers in the ink and toner category.

newsXpress backs itself and reviews sales numbers for members after each HOT Ink! campaign.  As many said at our recent round of member meetings – HOT Ink! drives excellent traffic to newsXpress stores and generates excellent sales.  This new co-ordinated marketing collateral takes us to a new playing field.

Supporting Mother’s Day

mothers_day_newsxpress.jpgIn addition to the terrific marketing collateral and Sony Camera (as a customer prize) we have arranged from Hallmark Cards to support Mother’s Day, we have produced this poster for use elsewhere in our newsXpress locations.  We know from consumer research that some need a reminder of the day.  This poster achieves that in a natural feel-good way. It is a credit to our internal marketing team.

We have newsXpress members using this poster to support their Mother’s Day gift offer while others use it to promote Mother’s Day at the counter.  Either way, it is proving to be a useful extention to newsXpress marketing collateral.

We understand that we need to keep innovating to find new customers for our members.  This month’s coupon offer will evolve in the next HOT Ink! flyer.  What will not change is our commitment to brand – in this marketplace, brand is important as it represents value in the minds of consumers.  This is why we boldly support HP, Canon, Epson and brother.

Valentine’s Power End (part 2)

powerend.jpgThe visual merchandising team at our newsXpress Frankston location have made excellent use of the Hallmark and newsXpress marketing collateral – built around the free Sunbeam coffee machine being given away to one lucky customer. Like many newsXpress stores, the team has bought well from newsXpress suppliers, choosing appropriately for their specific demographic.

For seasons like Valentine’s Day, newsXpress provide a range of options for members and they select according to their local needs. We understand that there are times when a consistent national range and price is important and times when local needs take precedence. newsXpress is flexible in its approach and puts the needs of our members first.

Valentine’s Power End (part 1)

2nd-feb-008.jpgPhil and Wendy Banks at newsXpress Glendale have a reputation in their region for gifts. They have built this carefully by attending trade shows and listening to their customers. Phil and Wendy were at the Reed Gift Fair in Melbourne this weekend – already planning for later this year. Back at their shop, their Valentine’s Day marketing was in full swing. They have a brand new range of gifts and are using the newsXpress marketing collateral (provided through our new website) to good effect.

Making Christmas gift packs

nxdbay_tree.JPGAlexandra Carey from newsXpress Deception Bay in Queensland has developed a unique gift idea for Christmas.  By using small Christmas trees and adding themed items, Alexandra has created a range of gifts for customers.

The Toilet-tree has Christmas themed toilet paper, bubble bath, face washer and soap lollipop.  The Secra-tree has a diary, a Zebra pen and a pack of post-it notes.

These packs make gift giving easy and add some fun to retail.  Alexandra is making packs to order for customers.  This is excellent innovation at a local store level!

newsXpress newsagents are innovative.  They also share ideas for the greater good of the newsXpress community.  Good things happen when like minded newsagents work together.

Hot ink offers for Halloween and beyond

hink_hal.JPGThe latest newsXpress Hot Ink campaign which started last week has a Halloween theme. Beyond being a bit of fun, we show we are serious about driving traffic to our stores and competing on price. Integrating simultaneous campaigns like this is common among national retailers but rare in newsagencies. newsXpress felt ready to take this step given the maturity and success of our Hot Ink campaigns.

The two page flyer is being delivered to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses around participating stores as part of our co-ordinated marketing campaign. The offer is even more timely than usual given the talk in the press on economic matters. People looking to save money know they can shop at newsXpress newsagencies for quality branded ink and toner and trust that our prices are excellent.

Many newsXpress members entered the ink and toner space only after being guided by newsXpress. Our training, support, supplier relationships and national marketing has combined to deliver excellent sales results. While newsXpress members are thrilled at winning new business from existing customers, they are even more thrilled at seeing new customers come through the door.

As the only newsagent group marketing ink and toner on TV, newsXpress members are well positioned to leverage this high growth category even further in the coming months.

If you want innovative marketing strategies for your newsagency, contact newsXpress.

Connecting with the Spring Racing Carnival

src_kit.JPGSeasons like the Spring Racing Carnival present an excellent opportunity for newsagents to engage in retail theatre.  newsXpress supports these seasons through visual merchandising packs which supplement local creativity around the opportunity.

Too often others neglect opportunities like the Spring Racing Carnival and then complain later about the leakage of consumers from their business to other retail channels.  In today’s market, more than ever before, we need to be on top of every opportunity.  Certainly as the premier marketing group for newsagents that is the case for newsXpress.  Our members can choose whether to engage or not – our job is to put the opportunity on the table and to back this with appropriate collateral.

Newsagents are a good fit for promoting the Spring Racing Carnival because newspaper sales are up, racing magazine sales are up, party supplies are up and, most important of all, it’s fun!

Supporting breast cancer research

newsXpress Kin Kora are right behind the newsXpress/Pentel exclusive Pink Roller Boys. Sponsoring Breast Cancer Research the always popular Pentel Roller Boys have been given Sarah’s famed merchandising treatment as these very striking merchandise units show.

The benefit of a mobile unit such as this is seen by the positioning just near the Darrell Lea Stand. The stand can be moved to the lotto counter, news stand or magazine rack to capitalise on increased traffic flow and encourage bigger basket size as well as bringing more recognition to this most worthy of charities.
