Easter at newsXpress Wetherill Park

261109-038.jpgThe team at newsXpress Wetherill Park have slipped seemlessly from the popular ‘Back to Work – Win A Yaris’ promotion straight into the more traditional Easter retail celebration. Using the standout newsXpress ‘Happy Easter’ A1 Posters as the centrepiece, and flanked by cute Easter Bunny mobiles, they have expertly displayed their Easter gift ideas on trestle tables completing the story.

The attention to detail is superb with hand made gift baskets and hampers, along with gift ideas for under $10, and $15 making shopping easy!

Last year, newsXpress achieved double digit growth on a same store year on year basis.

Promoting St Patrick’s Day 2010

fhn_stpats_2010.JPGnewsXpress Forest Hill is enjoying good sales success from this St Patrick’s Day display.  In the first couple of days plenty of items have sold including glasses, hats and stickers.

The newsXpress exclusive collateral draws attention to the offer as does the distinctive green colour of all of the items including the Lovatts Colossus crossword.

St Patrick’s Day, while a minor season, is an excellent opportunity for newsXpress stores to have fun, sell some funky products and engage with the extended Irish community.  this community engagement is key to driving sales throughout the year as it makes the business to go-to location for these special occasions and events.

The newsXpress marketing calendar presents plenty of opportunities like St Patrick’s Day.

Back to Work at newsXpress Wetherill Park

10022010567.jpgnewsXpress Wetherill Park have backed up their impressive Valentine’s Day and Back to School promotions with an equally effective Back to Work display.

A prominent use of the newsXpress supplied A1 posters and A6 price tickets, along with a clever use of colour from products featured in the 6 page A5 flyer ensures this merchandising is seen by all customers entering the store.

Back to Work at newsXpress Riverlink

riverlink_btw.JPGnewsXpress Riverlink (QLD) has created a striking display promoting our Back to Work offers in their front window at the entrance to the shopping centre.  Showing off a colourful range of products and the Back to Work campaign collateral, the display attracts shoppers – as good display should.  This is a window display unlike what you would see in a regular newsagency and that is what newsXpress encourages.

Back to Work is a newsXpress exclusive campaign supported by many suppliers.  In addition to the free in-store marketing collateral (A1 posters, A4 posters, shelf talkers) we have also distributed close to 1 million six-page catalogues to homes around participating newsXpress locations.

Once lucky newsXpress shopper will win a Toyota Yaris and eight runners-up will each win a premium bike.

Back to Work is the newsXpress difference in full view.  We are driving new traffic, helping customers spend more and broadening the range of products purchased – beyond the traditional for a newsagency.

Valentine’s Day at newsXpress Knox City

valentines_knox.jpgThe team at newsXpress Knox City is promoting a range of Valentine’s Day products in front of cards at the entrance to the store.  The gifts which include plush, keyrings, mugs and other items are already selling well as are the Hallmark Valentine’s Day cards.  As part of the newsXpress / Hallmark strategic partnership, one lucky customer at Knox will win a luxury gift hamper.  This is also on offer at most newsXpress stores.

The newsXpress Valentine’s Day collaterall is being used elsewhere in the store to promote Valentine’s day.

Dump bin strategy helps move stock

dump_buns.JPGThe dump bin strategy and collateral released by newsXpress earlier this year is helping our members move stock in a professional and successful way.  The branded bins, coupled with the professional newsXpress in-store air signs, draw attention to product you want to move.  Members are reporting great success using these red and black bins to move old stock or remainder stock purchased for sale times – such as the Boxing Day Sale.

We developed the bins to provide newsXpress members with structure for displaying promotional product without the displays looking cheap as is so often the case when end of line or discount stock is put on tables.

Christmas at newsXpress Nambour

newsxpress-nambour-christmas-dec09_3.jpgThe team at newsXpress Nambour in Queensland is embracing Christmas and our newsXpress Merry Giftmas promotion with good in-store displays.  The photo shoes their stocking fillers display – this is a great idea, guiding customers what to buy.  This type of visual merchandising is how we like to see the newsXpress marketing collateral and product opportunities used.

What makes the display work especially well is that it is in a good location and is easy to see.  Successful retailers execute good visual merchandising which is visually compelling, offers value and is easy to shop off.  The team at newsXpress Nambour has achieved this.

newsXpress Maryborough (VIC) merchandises well

rimg0223.JPGnewsXpress Maryborough in Victoria is using the newsXpress supplied 2010 calendar and Merry Giftmas posters to dress the store and promote these two newsXpress exclusive offers.  The result is a bright and enticing in-store story.

By embracing the newsXpress collateral, newsXpress Maryborough is able to present a professional and exciting pitch for categories which most newsagents treat in a more traditional way.  The result is shown in sales.

We have stores in the city and country towns, in big shopping malls and tiny high street situations using our Christmas and calendar marketing collateral with great effect.

newsXpress Wetherill Park wins merchandising award

nx_wetherill_park_twi.jpgnewsXpress Wetherill Park has won a supplier-funded award for their stunning merchandising display for product associated with the new Twilight movie, new moon.  The display promotes new moon board game, new moon calendars, new moon jewellery and new moon themed magazines.

As this and other recent photos on this blog show, newsXpress members are committed to bold visual merchandising around strong licences which serve across multiple categories.  This is especially true when the licence reaches into strong magazine traffic as it presents an opportunity to leverage this for higher margin business.

newsXpress members are banking excellent results from our licence product strategy.  It offers an excellent example of the newsXpress difference in action.

Congratulations to newsXpress Wetherill Park for such great leadership.

Help with visual merchandising

newsXpress is pleased to announce the appointment of a specialist supplier in the area of visual merchandising products. This new supplier relationship provides newsXpress members with access to a good range of  visual merchandising and display auxiliary products including poster hangers, frames and perspex brochure display products and other VM products.  The range of products available from this new relationship will be on display at the newsXpress conference in October.

newsXpress Bairnsdale named exclusive display competition winner

bairnsdale-select-afl-promo-july09.jpgVictorian newsXpress members participated this year in an exclusive display competition with the popular Select brand of AFL cards.

After a number of exceptional submissions were received promoting the product launch, Select and Network Services were faced with the difficult task of selecting just one winner. The judges selected newsXpress Bairnsdale for their impressive in-store display which incorporated merchandising material provided by Select plus their own material including a mannequin and other AFL memorabilia.

As avid St Kilda supporters David and Gina Brakey have won a 2009 signed St Kilda jumper professionally framed and tagged (pictured above).  Select and Network Services Company expressed their thanks to newsXpress and their members for their ongoing support of the 2009 Select AFL Football cards.

Merchandising to your local market

In retail it is important to tell a story, whether this is a price story, a range story, or a theme story. Creating a promotion with a story in mind increases your potential to attract customers to make sales.

dsc03444.JPGnewsXpress Beechworth had this focus in mind when designing their front window display for the HOT ink! 11 promotion. Beechworth is well known as a beautiful Australia historic town and a popular holiday destination, the residents and local businesses put considerable effort into local events and using this as a basis for promotions makes good business sense.

Ian and Tracy’s daughter Rachael incorporated the exceptional point of sale posters supplied by newsXpress along with the oversized autumn leaves celebrating the local Harvest Festival to spectacular effect in creating this front window display – so well in fact she has been appointed to oversee all window displays from now on.

Pelican Waters embrace HOT ink!

newsxpress-007.jpg
newsXpress Pelican Waters have warmly embraced the newsXpress brand and its many and varied business modules.

Chief amongst these are the HOT ink! category which was allocated a large section of prime retail space and has subsequently flourished. The banner size HOT ink! logos around this display are fantastic, delineating the category and drawing the attention of all customers directly to the product as soon as they enter the store.
