The name and photo are important to show them this box is theirs, that they own it. It is important, too, that you put the box somewhere they can get to it. The most important thing to do, though, is the ritual of putting inside the box birthday cards, Christmas cards, Easter cards, photos and other items they will one day cherish far more than when they first received them.
