newsXpress difference on show at cluster meetings

The newsXpress difference has been on show at cluster meetings over recent weeks as we meet with and listen to members. These meetings are open, consultative and focused on business growth for newsXpress members.

Rather than using the meetings to push and push supplier deals, these meetings are about growing even stronger and more valuable newsXpress businesses.

Newsagents switching to our group love the meetings, they love the networking and they love that meetings are not a stream of suppliers peddling their wares.

The cluster meetings are a genuine and loved newsXpress difference.

newsXpress Meve promotes Patch and Beanie Balls

newsXpress Meve in WA is another newsXpress location offering a best-practice presentation of the Patch floor display unit along with the eye-catching Beanie Balls on top of the display.

Patch is selling out in many newsXpress locations with stores reporting that shoppers love watching the video playing in the display.

The newsXpress merchandise committee met this week to consider supplier submissions for Christmas.  While the contents of the meeting are confidential for commercial reasons, we can share that newsXpress members representing fourteen of our member businesses were thrilled with the opportunity to see potential Christmas product and discuss the suitability or otherwise of this for members of our newsagency marketing group.

newsXpress hosted the meeting with some live in the room and others connecting through the internationally-renowned WebEx platform.

Promoting the Pacific Magazine WIN A CAR competition

newsXpress Knox City is promoting the WIN A CAR competition from Pacific magazines with this behind the counter display. Talk about presenting a clear message to shoppers.

This is a best practice display making the most of the collateral from Pacific Magazines. It attracts shoppers with the car opportunity and draws attention to some of the titles being promoted.

Promoting Virgin Mobile Broadband offer

newsXpress Watergardens has been promoting the newsXpress exclusive Virgin Mobile Broadband offer with this in-store display featuring one of the scooters on offer as a prize for the newsXpress EXCLUSIVE promotion.

In addition to the in-store theatre and excitement of the scooter on the shop floor there is the benefit of promoting the valuable Virgin Mobile offer which separates our business from other retailers in the centre.

newsXpress stores create exciting in-store displays, often setting their businesses apart from other newsagencies.

Coca Cola joins newsXpress

newsXpress announced to members last week that Coca Cola had joined our community of preferred suppliers.  This new relationship will bring special deals, promotional opportunities and other commercial benefits to newsXpress members.

The C0ca Cola deal reflects the newsXpress commitment to brand name products which are backed by nation advertising campaigns.

As a group we have no interest in cheap China products which try and differentiate on price. This price based marketplace is packed, shoppers are not loyal and product quality is often poor. National brands reflect quality, value and shopper loyalty.

The newsXpress commitment to brand is proving to be a valuable move.

Welcome Coke to our family!

Valentine’s Day at Ocean Grove

newsXpress Ocean Grove has been promoting Valentine’s Day with this double sided display.

On this side we can see just part of their card and gift range for Ocean Grove shoppers.

Placed in a high traffic location, this display has been positioned to work a treat for the newsagency and drive a deeper basket through the Valentine’s Day season.

newsXpress members have been loving the JAG watch pack giveaway funded by newsXpress for members to offer in each store as part of the Valentine’s Day promotion.

Valentine’s Day 2012 is a wonderful newsXpress season.

Valentine’s Day at newsXpress Bairnsdale

newsXpress Bairnsdale has been promoting Valentine’s Day in the front window facing out onto the street. The key feature of the window display is the two JAG watches on offer for one lucky newsXpress Bairbsdale shopper. The extra effort gone to to create the display featuring the JAG prize pack is to be commended – it makes a strong statement … kudos to the team involved at newsXpress Bairnsdale.

PS. we noticed Cooper, the large bear had fallen off his perch. Unfortunately we did not have another photo to show him sitting upright with a smile.

What a terrific Halloween season

newsXpress stores across Australia have been embracing and loving the Halloween season this year.  We have seen a wonderful range of terrific in-store displays offering a broad range of  products from preferred suppliers.

In addition to valuable sales revenue, halloween has given newsXpress stores a wonderful opportunity to show off creative visual merchandising skills and smart retail management tactics.

The photo shows the Halloween display created at our newsXpress Knox corporate store where Halloween has been a real hit for us.

newsXpress has been promoting Halloween since 2005.  Back then we were the first newsagency marketing group to engage in this seasonal opportunity.

It is our pioneering, sourcing suppliers, delivering creating marketing collateral, training newsagents on visual merchandising and running community engagement programs which has paved the way for so many other newsagents to now leverage Halloween for commercial success.

Thanks to our wok over the years, Halloween is in the top four seasons for some newsXpress businesses, delivering excellent rewards.

Tragedy for the newsXpress family

newsXpress members were saddened to hear this morning of the murder of newsXpress member Garry Angus overnight at his newsXpress Bendigo (Victoria) store.

newsXpress members and suppliers are rallying around Garry’s family with offers of support and comfort.

Garry was a regular participant in newsXpress member meetings and other activities, offering helpful comments and always ready with a laugh when we needed it.

Garry will be sadly missed.  Our collective heart goes out to his loved-ones.
