Promoting Halloween garden lights

watergardens-hal-lights.JPGnewsXpress Watergardens is promoting the exclusive to newsXpress Halloween garden lights in what looks like an old chest with fog wafting across and in between the lights.

This is a very effective looking display which is getting shoppers to pick up a light and ask what it is.

Success with Halloween is all about creating retail theatre … and having fun.

newsXpress Kin Kora loving Halloween!

kinkora-halloween-2010-001.jpgnewsXpress Kin Kora is having an amazing Halloween 2010.  Read just how great in their own words:

We ordered up big for Halloween. It wasn’t big enough. I have just placed a top up order for a number of items (the basics, fake blood etc) because I’ve sold out already. I ordered 25% more than last year (more of some units depending on how early I sold through last year). I’m guessing this is because the catalogue has been distributed.

People are spending $20 on average for Halloween. One lady spent $250 on little things.

The picture of my window is not great (neither is the window display because I’ve sold a couple of $150 items out of the window in the last 3 days).

I hope every member gets into Halloween in 2011. We started very little and now it is a major event! I knew 2010 would be big, but re-ordering on the 5th of October means it will be massive!

Click on the photo to see the window display.  It looks terrific even with some key items sold out of the window.

Halloween takes over newsXpress Wetherill Park

wetherill-hall2.JPGFrom the entrance to deep into the store, Halloween has taken over newsXpress Wetherill Park.  Using newsXpress collateral and an excellent mix of Halloween product, the store has been transformed to reflect the fun and excitement of the Halloween season.  Well done to everyone involved in this display!

Halloween voice changers the hit of the season

wg-voicechangers.JPGThe Hallmark Halloween Voice Changers, which are exclusive to newsXpress stores, are generating excellent business again this week.  This clever stand at our newsXpress Watergardens store is a clever merchandising move by Renee.  It looks good, presents the product well and is tactically placed at the counter in a high impulse location.

Once a customer picks up a voice changer you are much closer to getting a sale – hence the importance of placement in-store.  Co-location is recommended including one placement at the counter.

Halloween at newsXpress Gympie

gympie-halloween.JPGHalloween landed in Gympie last week with this terrific in-store display at newsXpress Gympie which reflects the fun and opportunity of the season. Sales have been so strong that the store is having to arrange for more stock.  This is a story being repeated across the newsXpress network.  Well done to everyone at newsXpress Gympie for such a great display.

Success with the Halloween party stand

halloween-stand.JPGThe Halloween party goods stand which newsXpress sourced for members is working very based on feedback we have received.

Designed to work as a basket builder supporting the broader newsXpress Halloween campaign, this stand of party goods offers an excellent range of cups, plates and other items for anyone planning a Halloween event this year.

Part of our focus this year is about helping people interact with the season at home, hence the importance and relevance of the party goods stand.

newsXpress has owned Halloween in the newsagency channel for years.  The products offers and marketing activity for this year have taken the newsXpress to a new and even more rewarding level!

Halloween comes to newsXpress Ballarat

ballarat-halloween1.jpgThe folks living in Ballarat will have fun this Halloween thanks to the terrific display of Halloween products at newsXpress Ballarat in the Block Arcade.

Strategically placed on the dance floor near the card department, the Halloween display offers all the treats such as witches hats, face masks, pumpkin buckets and costumes.

The bats flying around the newsXpress poster above the display is an especially scary treat.

The level of energy and commitment shown right across the newsXpress network for Halloween this year is wonderful.

Halloween at newsXpress Pacific Pines

pacificpines-halloween.JPGnewsXpress Pacific Pines is participating in Halloween for the fourth year in a row and is anticipating a repeat of year on year growth they have seen previously.

Their appropriately scary and wonderful display is tactically placed to get to customers as they enter and leave the store.  It includes a good range of masks and other items to trick yourself out for a great Halloween.

We are hearing from newsXpress stores right across Australia that Halloween has kicked in earlier this year.  Thankfully newsXpress and our suppliers were ready with great displays appearing from right after Father’s Day.  What a great lead in to Christmas!

Halloween takes off at newsXpress Ocean Keys

oceankeys-halloween.JPGThe terrific Halloween display at newsXpress Ocean Keys in Western Australia is already a hit with feature products selling as the display was being set up.  The hanging ghosts have been especially popular.

A display like this is certain to attract new customers to the store and this is a key part of the newsXpress Halloween strategy – exceuted so well at Ocean Keys.

Halloween a hit at newsXpress Deception Bay

deceptionbay-halloween.JPGnewsXpress Deception Bay is scaring the heck out of their customers with this fantastic Halloween display.  Scaring them in a good way that is – into buying great Halloween product.

From the newsXpress Halloween poster hanging high up to the product at kid level close to the ground, the display is an excellent presentation of the Halloween opportunity and how good newsXpress stores are making the most of this.

Well done to everyone involved at newsXpress Deception Bay.

Scary shop front at newsXpress Watergardens

watergardens-halloween.jpgRight across the front of newsXpress Watergardens is a Halloween display which extends the theatre of the body on the ground display we covered a few days ago.

The display looks terrific – better than you can see in the photo.   The value of a display, of course, is in sales it generates.

This display is working a (financially valuable) treat at newsXpress Watergardens.

Great Halloween success at newsXpress Harbourtown

harbourtown-halloween.JPGnewsXpress Harbourtown is awash with Halloween products and promotion for what is looking to be a bumper season for the shop this year.  Their 2010 stock orders were significantly above those for 2009 and already the business has sold more than they did for all of the 2009 season.  This is a testament to excellent management and visual merchandising of the Halloween offer.

newsXpress Harbourtown feels spooky and customers comment on this when they enter – they are clearly spending their money too.  The fun created is excellent and commercially valuable.  Well done to everyone involved at Harbourtown!

newsXpress Oxenford sells out of some Halloween product

ozenford-halloween.JPGWayne Case is from the US and knows a thing or two abour Halloween.  He loves that newsXpress embraces the season and that he can too at his newsXpress Oxenford store.

Having ordered more stock this year than last, the newsXpress Oxenford team is thrilled that sales are already ahead.  The newsXpress Exclusive Hallmark Voice Changer has already sold out and more stock is on order.

They have trimmed stationery space to free more space for Halloween.

As the photo shows – they are having fun with the season and making great use of the newsXpress Halloween marketing collateral.

Halloween at ewnsXpress Top Ryde City

topryde-halloween.jpgHalloween is front and centre at newsXpress Top Ryde with this high impact display on the lease line and facing into the mall.

With an appropriate mix of scary and fun, the display is sure to bring plenty of younger shoppers to the store.  Attracting this demographic is a key part of the newsXpress Halloween strategy.

Well done to everyone at Top Ryde for a top Halloween display!

Crime scene at newsXpress Watergardens!

img_0008.JPGRenee and the team at newsXpress Watergardens has thrown open the front third of the store to Halloween with all sorts of displays and promotions.  One generating considerable interest is this marking of a body on the floor of a shop.  It helps create a tremendous sense of place for the Halloween theme.

It is impossible for shoppers to visit the store for a newspaper, magazine or card and not be consumed by the Halloween opportunity.

Brilliant retail theatre!  Well done to everyone involved!

newsXpress stores across the country are getting into the Halloween spirit.  It is going to be a fun October!

Halloween at newsXpress Castle Towers

castletowers-halloween.jpgThe Halloween display on the dance floor at newsXpress Castle Towers makes a stong statement, pulling customers in from the mall to browse and shop.

Embracing the theatre and fun of Halloween, this display is does the team behind its creation proud.

One reason newsXpress embraced Halloween so strongly so many years ago was that it attracts younger shoppers – a challenging demographic for newsagencies.  The display at Castle Towers shows how appealing we can be to this crowd.

Trick or Treat at newsXpress Whittlesea

whitlesea-halloween2.JPGThe team at newsXpress Whittlesea is promoting Halloween in several locations in store including this feature location next to newspapers.

This display focuses on the Trick or Treat Halloween experience and the activities planned by the store to promote Halloween in the town.

Halloween is an excellent opportunity to show off retail theatre and to, through this, attract new customers to the business.

It is great to see newsXpress Whittlesea going all out for Halloween 2010.
