newsXpress Redcliffe raises $800+ for flood relief

redcliffe-floods.jpgThe Queensland flood relief appeal is going great from the feedback from newsXpress stores right across the country.  newsXpress promoted the appeal to newsXpress members at the eight of the Queensland floods.

newsXpress Redcliffe passed the $800 mark after 1 week. The goal was to raise $1,000 – the store is lifting its target.  All the donations are banked into the Premier’s Flood Appeal Fund each day, the receipts are on display in the photo on the back wall to give customers confidence it is getting to the people in need.

newsXpress is proud of the work being done by newsXpress members and their teams to raise money for this important cause.

newsXpress would like to thank its preferred suppliers who have offered direct and practical assistance to flood affected newsXpress members. 

The flood assistance is in a variety of forms including free stock and extended terms, depending on the supplier.

newsXpress has played a small role in communicating the offers of assistance from suppliers to newsXpress members.

In addition to direct supplier assistance, newsXpress has been able to access other help for flood affected newsXpress members – outside of the work with newsagent suppliers.

Seizing the opportunity in Deception Bay

january-003-2.jpgnewsXpress Deception Bay has embraced the opportunity of a temporarily second location in their centre by filling it with products sourced through newsXpress preferred suppliers.  The newsXpress suppliers have provided quality brand name product at highly competitive prices and enabled newsXpress Deception Bay to make the  ost of the opportunity presented by the landlord.

Other newsXpress members have similar stories – where suppliers have been a wonderful help with outposts and temporary leasing opportunities.  Being able to move quickly on opportunities like this is important in retail, especially in shopping centres.

Promoting Back to school at Bondi Eastgate

These posters promote the range and service offered by newsXpress Bondi Eastgate for Back to School products  and work a treat at attracting shoppers in the centre to the store for Back to School items – they are the back to school specialists after all.

Back to School is going well this year across the group based on reports we have so far.  Strong sales not only on the Back to School specials but on the broader stationery range.

Promoting the helium balloon service

helium-balloons.jpgAs part of its support for a party goods department, newsXpress has created a poster promoting helium balloons being available in-store.  This artwork, in varying sizes, has been sent to newsXpress stores for use in store and outside the store.  This artwork is part of a broad range of non seasonal collateral provided by newsXpress to help members professionally dress and grow their businesses … another example of the newsXpress difference.

Back to School specials at newsXpress Forest Hill

By focusing on the top line specials at the entrance, the store is using competitive pricing  to attract shoppers in a centre where Big W and other majors are pushing had this back to School season.

Employee of the Month at newsXpress Watergardens

Congratulations to Jayden, a team member at our newsXpress Watergardens store has won Staff Member of the Month out of all of the retail team members in all businesses at the Watergardens Town Centre.  Our store manager nominated Jayden in recognition of his excellent customer service skills and how he performs as part of our team.  There is a small cash prize, a certificate and promotion in the centre newsletter.  Well done Jayden!

Delivered in a format which can be easily customised at the local store level, this newsletter is a popular way of communicating with shoppers and promoting key items available in-store.

The newsletter is used in a number of different ways including: placement at the counter, placement in a stand at the store entrance, inclusion with customer statements, delivery to local homes, shipment with stationery sold to customers and handed out at local events.

The newsletter is just another way newsXpress helps its members promote their business with professional collateral.

newsXpress support for the Premier’s Flood Appeal

Promoting Party Goods in newsXpress Stores

partysupplies.jpgWith a new party goods supplier now established in the newsXpress preferred supplier roster, newsXpress has prepared a range of collateral for use by members wanting to promote the expanded ranges now available on excellent terms.

In addition to negotiating newsXpress preferred supplier arrangements, the newsXpress National Merchandise Team has also sourced ancillary products to help newsXpress members leverage party supply sales while our Marketing Team has prepared collateral to promote the offer.

newsXpress understands the importance of not only negotiating good supplier deals but backing these up with support and additional services so that the maximum value may be achieved.

newsXpress members will hear more about the expanded party supplies opportunity at our February round of one-day mini conferences around the country.

This Australia Day promotion at newsXpress Glendale will feed in very nicely to the promotions which will be run by newspapers for the national day.

flood-appeal.pngnewsXpress stores across the country are receiving excellent support for our fund raising efforts for the Queensland Premier’s Flood Appeal which we  started supporting as a group last week.  From simple collection containers at the counter to sausage sizzles to support for community fundraiser auctions, newsXpress members are their customers are actively engaged in raising funds to support relief work in Queensland.

In addition to fund raising, newsXpress is are providing practical assistance wherever possible to our newsXpress members and other newsagents affected by the floods.

Back to School at newsXpress Castle Towers

With an excellent range of Back to School product for students of all years for various schools and colleges around the Castle Towers Shopping Centre.  The store also does bagged year-level packages for students of one local school.

Queensland Flood Appeal

newsXpress stores across the country are collecting change from customers to raise funds for the Premier’s Flood Appeal.  Donations are being collected at the counter.  Receipts for deposits to the appeal fund will be on display for customers.  The appeal is being promoted on newsXpress radio.

newsXpress itself is helping newsXpress members who have been directly affected.  As flood waters recede the act help required will become more evident.

newsXpress Singleton Heights promotes Back to School

Back to School is different between newsagencies.  Some stores offer packs, as they are doing at newsXpress Singleton Heights, others offer a generic yet broad range which competed with the majors while others offer supplementary products of products not commonly part of the BTS offer in majors – like the Crocodile Creek range.

newsXpress supports members engaging with back to School in the way which is most appropriate for their local community.  We will and do support our members in this endeavor in any way possible.

The poster being used at newsXpress Singleton Heights is, in our view, a great example of best practice promotion of a localised Back to School offer.   Well done to everyone involved.

Raising money for flood victims

All resources of newsXpress are focused on helping members affected by the foods in Queensland and northern New South Wales.  Every member of the company from our Business Development Managers through to our Directors has been focused of flood assistance since the first floods in Emerald prior to the New Year.

While many of our members are in the thick of it and not yet able to assess the full impact, we are assisting where requested with answers to queries and help in taking back of back office matters in advance of them getting access.
