Toys a hit at newsXpress Pakenham

The display in the photo had more items but many have sold and replacements are on the way.  The floor mat has been particularly successful in attracting engagement from kids and drawing attention of parents.

Tinco Products a Hit For newsXpress Stores

cats-front.JPGThe Tinco range of gift tins and mugs, bear themed and cat themed, are selling well in participating newsXpress stores.  They are being used to create centre piece displays to attract shopper traffic and drive sales basket efficiency … as the photo shows.

Connecting primarily with older shoppers, the Tinco range is attracting people who tend to purchase more than one item in a newsagency – thus improving overall sales efficiency.

One of the biggest lessons for newsagents and any retailer is that they are not their customer.  Many newsXpress members have experienced this first hand when they have at first declined to take on a product and then see it sell well when encouraged to take it on by the newsXpress merchandise team.  The Tinco range was one such product in a newsXpress store recently.  The newsXpress member almost sold out the entire shipment in less than a month, delivering a valuable return on investment to the business and attracting new customers who have returned to the business.

The inclusion of plush bears as well as bear magazines rounds out the display and helps drive sales across multiple product categories.  It positions the business beyond selling just one range of product.

This Tinco range works a treat with greeting card customers – as the team at Leongatha has found.

Winter Warmers Success at newsXpress Kin Kora

Put together by the newsXpress merchandise team and promoted to newsXpress members, the Winter Warmers campaign included these microwavable huggable warmers. When you just about sell out in 24 hours you know that you have a hit product. That is exactly what happened at newsXpress Kin Kora … what a hit! Of course, more product is on the way to help keen newsXpress Kin Kora shoppers warm.

This is another success story for the newsXpress merchandise team.

Promoting Cats at newsXpress Watergardens

Sesame Street Stand Drives Sales

sesame.JPGThe Sesame Street lamp post stand from newsXpress preferred supplier Jasnor is delivering excellent sales results for newsXpress members. It delivers a more creative and flexible way of promoting the wonderful range of Sesame Street plush from Jasnor.

newsXpress stores are using the stand to drive good impulse business, leveraging existing good newsXpress traffic thanks to tactical placement in high traffic locations in store.

Sourcing good products, like this Sesame Street lamp post unit, is part of the newsXpress merchandise story. Helping members make the most of the opportunity is the other part and this is where newsXpress goes beyond the traditional newsagency marketing group.

The photo is from the Sesame Street stand we have at our corporate newsXpress Knox store.  In just two weeks sales have been excellent … great incremental business.  At our Watergardens corporate store we sold, including the stand itself – such is the love of Sesame Street.

newsXpress Laidley Recovers From Flood Damage

cards-laidley.JPGFollowing severe damage to the business in the Queensland floods earlier this year, newsXpress Laidley has rebuilt and created a fresh business for local Laidley shoppers.  The photo shows the new card department at newsXpress Laidley, decked out with an excellent range of cards from Hallmark as well as showing off some of the gifts now available from the business.  As experienced by many in flood affected Queensland, it has been a tough five months for the team at Laidley.  They have come through with good cheer and a determination to make the most of what nature dealt them.

Bears sell gifts at Knox

On offer is a range of tins, a tea pot and a mug – beautifully packaged.

Bright and appealing, this display is working with shoppers of all ages from children through to retirees.  Who doesn’t like teddy bears after all?

The display is running as part of the post Mother’s Day strategy at Knox, using professional visual merchandising to drive traffic and sales.  The strategy is working a treat for the business.

Cheeki coffee mugs in Better Homes and Gardens

With many newsXpress stores offering these environmentally friendly and safe mugs, this is a nice tie in for newsXpress.  In addition to the Cheeki coffee mug range, many newsXpress stores sell the Cheeki drink bottles.  Both items make for great gifts as well as for personal use.
