newsXpress Bairnsdale has been enjoying terrific sales in the lead up to Christmas.  From the newsXpress catalogue lines through to the Hallmark Jingle product sales have been excellent.  Indeed they have struggled to keep up with demand for the Hallmark Jingle product as it has been a runaway success with Bairnsdale shoppers.

Key to the success at newsXpress Bairnsdale has been excellent visual merchandising which leverages the excellent products supported by the newsXpress brand.

The display in the photo is well positioned on the dance floor, making the most of excellent store traffic.

newsXpress Roselands has been operating a large outpost at the Westfield Roselands Shopping Centre in Sydney in the run up to Christmas.

newsXpress Melton has been having a terrific time with Christmas this year including great sales from their Christmas outpost featuring Hallmark Christmas cards,  books, calendars, wrapping paper and other items targeted at the Christmas shopper.

Some items had already sold out by the time the photo was taken earlier this month.

This is a photo of the Christmas display in-store at newsXpress Pakenham.  While now well sold down since the photo was taken, back then they were displaying the newsXpress Christmas catalogue range in with other Christmas items sourced by the business.  There is no doubt that the more care taken with a display at Christmas the greater the success.  newsXpress Pakenham is having a terrific Christmas.

newsXpress Inverloch has been promoting the newsXpress Christmas catalogue range in-store using newsXpress collateral.  The photo shows just part of their Christmas display facing a traffic thoroughfare in the business.

As the range has sold down they have added other items to ensure that shoppers have plenty of Christmas gift items from which to choose.

newsXpress Macarthur is making excellent and consistent use of newsXpress collateral and products from newsXpress preferred suppliers to drive their message in-store this Christmas.  Dressing the shop in a consistent way and embracing the Christmas theme makes for a celebratory feel for the business.  The shop looks wonderful and business performance is excellent as a result.

newsXpress Whittlesea is promoting Christmas throughout both retail outlets operated by the business, promoting not only the newsXpress Christmas catalogue range but also other Christmas gifts, trinkets and decoration items.  They also have this Christmas area inside the business, a corner of all sorts of Christmas items. The range is diverse and the offer appealing … based on excellent sales.

newsXpress Mortdale has been promoting the newsXpress Christmas catalogue range on a table on the dance floor in-store.  Featuring products from the catalogue with easy to read price tags and in an accessible location has proved to be the key with the Christmas catalogue.  With many stores reporting sell-outs, our national merchandise team has good learnings on how to display and where to make the most of the opportunity and these are shared with newsXpress members.  As we get closer to Christmas, good newsXpress members are adjusting displays to make the most of last-minute shopping opportunities.

newsXpress Pakenham has a terrific display in their window featuring Christmas products.

This display attracts Main Street Pakenham shoppers and lets them know that newsXpress Pakenham has an excellent range of Christmas cards and gifts … without blocking access to a view of the rest of the busy newsagency.

From Christmas cards to wrap to gifts, Christmas 2011 has been terrific so far right across newsXpress stores.

newsXpress Canterbury is a new newsXpress member in Melbourne … a busy full-service newsagency with a Licenced Post Office in a very popular premium shopping strip in the suburb of Canterbury.

As we are seeing in many newsXpress locations, Christmas trade is brisk!

Among the quirkier items on our Christmas catalogue this year are the Cadbury branded tea pot and mug.  Our merchandise team selected these items as cadbury is the best known brand of chocolate in the world and there are plenty of cadbury livers out there.  The tea pot and mug make perfect gifts for chocolate lovers.  Unique.  Quirky.  Fun.

We are thrilled to have these items in the newsXpress Christmas catalogue mix.  They show off a terrific point of difference and they are selling!

These social media themed magnets, Social Talk, are another point of difference in the newsXpress Christmas catalogue.  Connecting with people of all ages, they are a great Kris Kringle gift as well as a stocking stuffer for a family member.  we had such success with similar products last year that we had to give these a go this year.  early reports from newsXpress stores are that they are working a treat – especially when displayed with the Christmas catalogue range.

newsXpress members are reporting good sales of the Christmas Lolita glasses.  Thankfully our members are able to order extra product.  One member has placed a third order and is set to move more than 60 of the glasses this Christmas.
